About

The Jason Lane Band is a blues band with solid roots in rock and pop music. The band embodies a traditional blues sound that heavily incorporates the catchy melodies and vocal harmonies of pop and the intense guitar wizardry of rock. The result is a polished, soulful, smooth and downright groovy sound that is both contemporary and modern.

“The blues was always our calling, but it was rock that got us here.”  - Jason

The Jason Lane Band is based in Vancouver, Canada and consists of a brother and sister duo, Jason Lane Amott on guitars and Chantal Sayers Amott as the band's powerhouse singer. Alex J. Ritchie fills out the sound with his own unique style of guitar mastery. Rounding out the rhythm section is Robbie Cooper on percussion and Bruce Morrison on the five string bass.

JLB was formed in early 2019 by Jason who had previously played with Alex in the hard rock outfit Swaggerjack and with Chantal in the blues-rock band Taboo Queen. Influenced by the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Led Zepplin, Van Halen and U2 the band has struck that rare balance between catchy melodies and bluesy guitar work. Chantal’s smooth and sultry voice will attract fans of bands such as Tedeschi Trucks and Beth Hart, while the guitarwork will please fans of bands like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Colin James and Joe Bonamassa.

JLB released their first official EP in March of 2020. Experience JLB's scorching sound through their playful single "Speed of Sound," a slower and soulful shift through "Lights Down Low," and the deep and dark atmosphere within "Black Magic Woman”.

JLB released their second official EP, Wildcard in March 2021. The first single, 'Don't Let The Blues Win', has elements of all the above.

The latest EP, Stone In the Water, was released in June 2022 and contains six new rock blues songs with the first single, “Say Goodbye,” garnering  over 10,000 views on YouTube.

The Jason Lane Band perform continuously around the Vancouver and surrounding areas and deliver the best of upbeat, dance-able rock and blues music from the 70s to 90s. Chantal often pays homage to the songs that influenced her and the powerful female singers of that time. Sing along with tributes to Alannah Myles, Aretha Franklin, Sass Jordan, Tracy Chapman and Lady Gaga to mention a few. Although the band leans heavily on covering these classic tunes, many originals are infused into the set.

The Jason Lane Band also perform as an acoustic duo and trio delivering classic rock and solid blues with an acoustic flare. The duo features Jason and Chantal for an up close and personal experience great for small to mid-sized venues. The trio features both Jason and Alex on acoustic guitars for an added spark of guitar dazzle.
